I do my best to encourage students to be curious and to explore the world around them. Throughout the year, I surround my students with books of different authors, different structure, and different adventures to hopefully catch their imagination to make them fall in love with reading. In teaching Science and Social Studies, at times it is easy to catch my students curiosity but there is always so much more that we can do!
But really, nothing in our world makes us more curious than opening the pages of a book that stirs our imagination.
It is my goal to provide every fourth grade classroom with as many books as possible despite the subject matter that we teach. In order to show students that we encourage reading - we must have plenty of books for them to choose from.
“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”

My Project
Our grade level is broken up into subject area - Math, ELA, Science/Social Studies. Our subject areas may be broken up, but we are united in providing every open opportunity to showcase the power of reading and the places it can take you.
"The important thing is to not stop questioning, curiosity has its own reasoning for existing" - Albert Einstein.
One of our goals is to influence our students so that they see how curiosity in a book can shift their perspective on books. If children can see that books are a source of power and curiosity rather than something to dread doing, then we will change the next generation's perspective on reading.
