This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, curious learners who thrive when given the tools and structure to support their growth. They come from a variety of backgrounds and bring different strengths to the classroom, but what they all have in common is their willingness to try, learn, and support each other. What makes them truly special is their resilience and enthusiasm—even when the work is challenging, they show up with positive attitudes and a love for learning. I teach reading and writing, and we do a lot of group work, partner activities, and guided reading, which helps students build confidence, collaborate with their peers, and grow their skills in meaningful ways.

The supplies in this project may seem simple, but they play an essential role in our daily learning.

Highlighters, dry erase markers, and sleeves help students find main ideas and supporting details. Colored paper brings writing projects and reading centers to life. Pencils, pens, glue sticks, and sticker incentives for their notebooks keep our group and independent work running smoothly. Clorox wipes, bandaids, and tissues help us stay healthy and present, especially during cold and flu season. My goal is to create a well-stocked, organized, and welcoming classroom where students can focus on learning without worrying about whether they have what they need. With your support, we’ll be ready to start the year strong—equipped for both academic growth and joyful learning.
