My Project
My middle school students are creative, curious, and eager to learn hands-on skills that connect art, culture, and real-world design. In our Textile Arts and Fashion Design class, students explore fiber arts as a form of self-expression and cultural storytelling. From hand-sewn pillows to wearable accessories and upcycled fashion, this class gives students a chance to create something meaningful with their own hands—and build confidence along the way.
To take their learning to the next level, we need reliable sewing machines and crochet kits so students can work on more advanced projects and explore fashion design.
Right now, our class shares a few outdated machines, and students often wait to take turns. With your support, each small group will have access to their own equipment, allowing more time for creativity, skill-building, and collaboration.
Crochet kits will introduce students to a new form of fiber art, helping them develop fine motor skills and patience while creating scarves, accessories, or textile sculptures. These tools are essential to making the experience hands-on, accessible, and deeply rewarding for every student—especially those who may not see themselves as “traditional” artists but thrive when given a tactile, practical outlet for creativity.
By donating, you're not just funding materials—you’re giving students a chance to see themselves as makers, designers, and artists. Thank you for helping bring these tools into our classroom!
