Not only do my students have challenges in their academic lives but in their personal lives as well as. Help us overcome some of these obstacles through reading.
My students are bubbly sponges who love to learn.
We are a lively kindergarten room in Indiana. We are a local charter with limited resources that many large schools and districts are able to obtain. Currently we have 93% students who receive free and reduced lunch with a high needs student population.
My Project
The materials requested will be used to stimulate growth in reading. The non-fiction materials are high-interest books that my students are in need of to gather more information in a way they can understand independently. Through these resources we will have a hands on way of learning about reading and applying the skills taught during the mini lesson. Getting these materials in my students hands will allow them to be successful in reading and show academic growth.
The donations made to this project will help us to meet our end of the year goal to be on D reading level or higher.
Each child does not obtain knowledge in the same way, therefore it is important that students have exposure to all types of materials to be successful.
