Stimulate and Regulate

Help me give my students opportunities to stimulate their mind and their senses. The sensory mats, ball, tube and ramps will help to stimulate my students minds as well as regulate their sensory processing system.

My Students

We are a school driven by kindness, acceptance, and inclusion of all students. We are a melting pot of ethnicity, ability, and needs. All students are engaged, challenged, and motivated to learn and succeed through whatever methods they need.

Teaching in a kindergarten through third grade special education functional skills classroom with an amazing support team is an awesome experience.

Students in our class have a variety of needs and challenges and an enormous amount of strengths and talents. Many of them struggle with disabilities that place them at a disadvantage. Often, students benefit from many hands-on experiences and alternate teaching methods to help solidify concepts that are taught and express their creativity.

My Project

Student with moderate to severe special needs require multiple opportunities for sensory input regulation. The items in this project will help them to regulate the input they are receiving from the activities around them and thus be able to focus on their learning. No two students are alike! Therefore an effective classroom needs a variety of item in an effort to reach all students.

My students deserve to have the tools they need to regulate their mind and their senses.

With adequate sensory regulation, a student it is better able to achieve optimum attention to tasks and performance of activities. These items can provide or modify sensory input to help meet the needs of my children.
