📚📚Still Working Hard Even In The Summer📚📚
Help me give my students the love for learning. We have been reading Judy Blume books remotely on our google meet every week. They love the stories and love this author. I would love to keep this going!
My class this year were wonderful third grade children from many diverse backgrounds. Within my classroom , I had many children that only spoke english in school. They came from families, who were new to this country and didn't speak the language. Most of the children had very little help at home due to this. When we said goodbye that last Friday in March, who would have ever thought that would be it for our class. I worry about the children regressing over the summer since there is no rigor.
My Project
At our weekly meets, I have been reading aloud a Judy Blume book. The children are so engaged and want to hear more each week . They finally found an author and genre they love, so I want to give them the tools to continue this love at home through the summer. They also know how important a strong foundation in multiplication is because I have been stressing that all year. They constructed flash cards which were left in the classroom, so a tactile multiplication game is great to reinforce and teach the tables in a fun way .
