My students expressed a need for snacks to help keep them alert and motivated to learn, especially after they exercise and play sports in gym class.
Since we have a large population of students, I didn't not realize that my snack bins were emptying at an alarming rate. "Oh No, we have no more snacks!" was some of the reactions I received from students last week. I had to do an emergency run to hold them over this coming week.
A snack is such an important part of a student's day. They get even hungrier after working out. They are playing hockey now in gym class. It is such a high impact sports that a lot of them come to me starving. Not having a snack available to them made my heart hurt for them.
The State Math State test is coming soon. Students will need to keep their stamina during the test. They will need snacks to keep their energy going. We will need a lot of snacks to cover the hungry teens for both gym and State tests.
