My students love coming to school each day. They are eager to learn and excited to do fun and interesting activities. Many of their parents are immigrants, therefore, most of my students are English Language Learners.
Some of the kids live in the neighborhood, but a third of them commute to school from across town, because their families want them to be in a safer, higher-performing school.
At school, we focus on academic achievement, but we also make a huge effort to provide many opportunities in music, visual arts, performing arts, science, technology, and sports.
My Project
During Distance Learning, my students' families are counting on me to provide virtual meetings and teach lessons effectively, so that the kids can complete their assignments from home and learn what they need to prepare them for 3rd grade.
For my class to receive the best educational experience possible, I need some basic supplies to take care better care of myself.
I am not used to sitting down for long periods of time; therefore, my uncomfortable chair and not having the proper ergonomic set up in my make-shift classroom at home is starting to have an effect on my back, shoulders, arms and legs.
The materials in this project are only for me, but EVERY CHILD in my class, as well as all their parents, will benefit, because I will be able to FUNCTION BETTER and be a MORE PRODUCTIVE teacher. Please help provide a seat cushion, a special rising desk top, a small folding table, and a simple headset-- all BASIC SUPPLIES for a hardworking educator trying to SURVIVE while teaching during COVID-19.
