Sticky Pads to Help Students Stick With Their Learning!
Help me give my students a way to work cooperatively in groups. These sticky pads will allow for students to effectively complete gallery walks, graffiti walls, group work, and analyze quotes.
I work with a very diverse set of students. I instruct students in grades 6-8. I teach social studies....YAWN!!! At least that is what most students think BEFORE they enter my classroom. I work hard to make history real for the students by participating in many hands on learning opportunities. However, in order to make history real, resources are needed. I work in a title one school with limited funds. I also work in a school with a high population of special education students and struggling students. Simply reading a textbook is not effective for my students, they thrive with visual and kinesthetic learning.
My Project
These Sticky Pads will allow my students to learn in various ways. They will be used to complete gallery walks, which will allow for students to move around while learning. They will be used to work in cooperative groups to demonstrate concepts learned. They will be used to jigsaw materials and give students the opportunity to share their learning. They will also be used to create graffiti walls to demonstrate student learning. These sticky notes will allow for students to take ownership of their learning and learn in different ways. They will ultimately allow for more movement in learning which is critical for my students!
