it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These Sticky Note Easel Pads will go a long way in making a difference in my student's learning. With these tools I can make my ELA lessons engaging and interactive for my students.
There is a diverse collection of learning opportunities I can implement such as Gallery Walks.
This activity promotes group work collaboration as students are given a portion of a larger text to analyze as a group and present their thoughts to the class on the chart paper. Then whole class discussions can occur as students walk around the classroom and make comments on other groups' assigned text and thoughts.
As we read texts in our class I ask my students to share out themes they begin to notice in the stories. I use these Easel to record their answers, this provides a space where my students' thoughts are not only validated but their ideas are organized and recorded. Once, all my students' thoughts are collected, I place this chart somewhere in the classroom so that they may refer to it when needed. This task seems small but it helps my students' comprehension of the text and promotes class discussion since they can see their classmates' thinking in their approach to the story.
