My students need art supplies such as sticker makers to make review cube puzzles, pouches to help preserve student creations as well as stencils for poster projects.
Bring a little art into the academic subject areas and you will be amazed. Students are more focus and engaged in the learning process if even the smallest amount of art is incorporated into their learning. This is what these supplies will do. Don't you want to be a part of that!
The more my students experience hands-on activities, the more in-depth their learning and connections with the real world will increase.
My 7th and 8th graders consist of 103 actively engaged students in a rural high poverty area. This talented group of kids is made up of resource, GT, and the economically disadvantaged. The purchase of art supplies will push my students' interest and learning beyond the textbook. They can utilize these supplies when creating many of the activities we need to do in math and science.
My Project
My students work hard and I am very proud of them for this. They love it when hands-on creative based activities are included into the lessons. These supplies are all about that mission.
The adhesive rolls and sticker markers will be first utilized in a review cube puzzle project. The students saw one that I had made many moons ago and are begging to make one for themselves. This is one project that really has the my middle schoolers motivated.
Our classroom has a small laminator and the students are excited anytime they can use it to make parts of their project more durable. To do this we need laminating pouches. The kids slow down and actually do a better job with activities they know will be laminate. This, too, is another fabulous motivator.
We are constantly creating posters in both science and math. The stencils will be used more than one could imagine.
These art supplies will help make some of their request become reality. Don't you want to put a smile on their faces!
It is a known fact that students have greater understanding and retain more when they are actively involved in the learning process.
