This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students need constant reminders of what the expectations are in class. I try to have high standards for y students because I have all my faith that they can meet those high standards. Those goals can only be reached if they are set and encouraged.

I love to give as much positive reinforcement as I can.

I give them high fives, verbal acknowledgements, stickers, and I try to "catch them doing good." I like to focus on the things I do want rather than the things I do not. I think these little incentivizes although they may seem silly and insignificant to most mean a lot to small children. A sticker, a stamp, and a smile really go along way. Placing an encouraging stamp or sticker on a completed assignment really drives the message home that what they are spending their time on is valuable and that they themselves are valued.
