Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school in a predominately Latin community. Our biology classrooms try to make the material become relatable through social issues and using real-world phenomenon. All students work together in groups toward learning, sustaining, and strengthening their scientific understanding and critical reasoning.

I aim to support my future students in becoming self-directed and passionate learners who think actively and critically about the world around them.

Throughout the school year, students work toward becoming fully engaged agents of social change and advocates of their communities.

My Project

It's the little things that keep the classroom running smoothly. We use interactive notebooks in class. The interactive notebooks uses guided notes and guided worksheets in order to insure students' notes are organized and maintained in a useful way. The students are currently using glue bottles, but this requires them to glue at the end of class because the glue takes a while to dry, and they can't write on their paper.

These glue sticks will allow the students to quickly keep their notes together while ensuring students stay organized.

The highlighters will be used during the times that students need to highlight their notes. This will ensure that students will have a highlighter and not need to rely on other students to have one for them.
