This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With 21 devoted players and down to 7 working Rackets, practice this year has been a struggle. We have fought our way into 2nd place in the Bronx and have a team full of amazingly talented and kind hearted students.

These girls are devoted to the sport, the team and their schoolwork!

They lift each other up and stick together in inspiring ways. They are graceful and compassionate towards our opponents whether we win or lose. Their resourcefulness and positive outlooks will continue to lead them to success.

Some of these kids have a collegiate future in the sport. They just need equipment. Badminton has become a haven for many of them. They beg me to hold practice on the weekends and show up to every match, whether they are playing or not, just to support their team. I want to give them each a racket so they can continue to hone their skills in the off season and as a reward for their hard work and devotion this Spring. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
