Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students have limited resources at home. At the school, they have the ability to access the internet and use technology that is not available at home. Our school population has almost 900 students that come from a rural, low-income area. The students are economically disadvantaged. Ninety-six percent of the students qualify for our free lunch program.

Even though our students endure various hardships, they are always eager to learn.

In order for our students to keep up with fast-growing 21st-century technology skills, they need access to more up-to-date resources. As budgets are getting cut around the schools, my classroom budget has no funds.

My Project

Kids were not meant to sit all day but their lives revolves around sitting around in a classroom or in front of a computer. According to recent studies, obesity in children is on the rise. Giving the options of a trendmill and taller desks would help provide movement while working and learning in the our classroom.

The ultimate goal is to make my classroom a welcoming place that my students want to come and learn.

This is a great way to let our students study and become healthier at the same time. My students would be excited with different seating options versus the traditional seating.
