Stepping Up Math Skills With Movement in Second Grade!

My Project

My second-grade students are full of energy, creativity, and curiosity. Every day, they walk into the classroom ready to tackle new challenges, bring big ideas to life, and support one another as we grow together. What makes them special is their perseverance—many of them face obstacles outside the classroom, but they never let that stop them from trying their best and bringing their unique spark to our learning environment.

To keep their enthusiasm alive, I want to introduce a new way of learning math that aligns with their energy and creativity.

That’s why I’m requesting the Math & Movement Second Grade Math Kit. This resource combines physical activity with math learning to help students better understand concepts like addition, subtraction, skip counting, and multiplication. The colorful mats and hands-on activities turn math into an interactive experience, making it easier for students to retain what they learn.

The specific materials in this kit will make a huge difference in their learning because they engage multiple senses. My goal is to improve math fluency, build confidence, and help students see math as a fun and exciting part of their day. This approach will particularly benefit my kinesthetic learners who thrive when they can move and interact with what they’re studying.

My ultimate hope is that this kit will inspire my students to love math, feel confident in their abilities, and apply these skills to real-life problem-solving. With your support, we can bring math to life for these amazing second graders and give them the tools they need to succeed both now and in the future.
