My Students

Our community maybe small, but the hearts of our villagers are big. They are very supportive of our students, teachers, and school. Auburndale is a small village in Wisconsin. Our village has about 703 residents. We are in the center of 3 larger cities that provide many jobs and resources for our children's families.

Auburndale Elementary School has about 300 students.

We are a Pre-K-5 grade school. Grades K-3 have a four track grade, with 4 classrooms respectively. After 3rd grade we move down to a 3 track. We are very lucky that we can keep our classrooms small. We are also blessed with some very talented and dedicated teachers and staff to help in the best learning for our students.

This is my second year as a 1st grade teacher. For 20 years before, I was a special education teacher. I absolutely love teaching! I cannot imagine my life with anything different. Where is there a job where you get smiles, high-fives, and hugs from the best little people in the world. I have 12 students in my classroom. First grade is the best grade to teach!

My Project

I believe technology should go hand in hand with the curriculum. My students love to learn and I love to teach them. First grade is a year of so many changes.

The use of chromebooks in my classroom will help my students step into the future and step into learning.

We will use chromebooks to enhance our reading skills, sites that explore different genres and skills. Students will engage in activities and games that will increase their love of math and their abilities. I can't wait for my students to engage in writing activities such as pen pals, research, and writing strategies using their chromebooks.
