This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My kindergarteners are entering elementary school for the first time which is the beginning of their academic journey! This is a huge transition for them and I want to ensure that I have all of the tools and materials needed to make our classroom community a safe and nurturing space where they enjoy learning, problem solving and expressing themselves. My students are so eager to learn, explore, and question the world around them. The literacy and math materials will allow for my students to engage in hands-on activities that promote letter and number recognition, writing, reading and problem solving. These materials will help form their academic foundation as they gain the literacy and math skills needed to build on from grade to grade. The social emotional and art materials will allow for my students to use their creativity as they become aware of self and appreciate the similarities and differences amongst one another.
