My students are bright and enthusiastic about their learning and are excited to share their ideas.
Unfortunately, these children live and learn within a low income area and are not supplied to reach their full potential. I strive to supply them with all they need.
My students come from a world full of stories to tell, some positive and some not as positive. Nonetheless, they all live story-worthy lives. My goal this upcoming year is to truly nurture a love and enthusiasm for reading within them. I aim to lead them to the understanding that books are the ticket to whatever place you need them to take you to. I want my students to embrace the characters in the stories we venture through as their own and to realize they are more like our beloved characters than they may have initially realized.

My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through our door!
The comfortable chairs and bounce balls will be placed in the back of the classroom and used for independent reading time.
This will allow students to feel comfortable while they read for pleasure. The chart paper will be used to create anchor charts that reflect the discussions we have during our mini-lessons. The activities and many other items will be used for students whom are working in small groups while I am doing guided reading or guided math. I truly want my students to feel comfortable while learning.
