Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the new dance teacher at MSJ, just having started this year, I’m thrilled to be launching the very first dance program on campus. Our students are incredibly resilient and creative. Many have struggled in traditional school settings, but here, they’re finding new paths to success—and I’m honored to be part of their journey.
Dance offers my students a chance to move, express themselves, and build confidence in a supportive environment.
We’ve just transformed a classroom into a dance space, and now I’m working to make it truly functional and welcoming.
The items I’m requesting—yoga straps, resistance bands, foam rollers, and fans—will help students stretch safely, build strength, recover after workouts, and stay cool and focused while learning choreography. These aren’t just supplies; they’re tools for wellness, expression, and growth.
My goal is to create a space where students feel proud of what their bodies can do, maybe for the first time. With your support, I can give them the tools they need to thrive—not just as dancers, but as young people who know their effort matters. Thank you for believing in this program and in my students.
