Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year I have taken on the role of teaching science to all 5th graders and STEM to some students in a before school program, grades 3-5.
The materials requested would greatly help students to engage in hands-on challenges and critical problem solving skills, along with a little competitiveness.
A mobile whiteboard would help make note taking and activities easier as we go through lessons in small group settings. The building resources, such as magna tiles, building blocks and other tools would be used as STEM bins for extension activities.
With these tools, students would be able to create a multitude of ideas that they may be curious to try. It would also allow all students to have an opportunity to extend their learning by having a STEM Bin station that they can use when their work is completed.
