My Students

The 4th grade students in my classroom are full of questions and creativity. They thrive on hands-on learning experiences that allow for the exploration of how and why things work.

My classroom is made great by my students' diverse learning experiences and ideas.

Due to the diversity, students excel when they are given multiple mediums in which they can learn and explore. My students enjoy hands-on problem solving and the ability to find multiple ways in which to solve problems.

My Project

My students learn best when they are able to see and manipulate things in order to see how they work. Many of my students enjoy gaming and creating videos. They enjoy building and creating.

My students thrive on engaging activities that they can use to connect real world knowledge to classroom experiences.

Experiences that make learning come alive. I would like to foster the love of things that my students enjoy by using things like the Build Your Own Video Game and Make Your Own Movie Kits. Students could use these items to connect their personal passions with their classroom learning. They could write, create, and produce their own games and videos. Often times students struggle with writing when it's just sitting down with a pencil and paper, but when students are allowed to have a hands-on experience, to have a real experience - that could make writing exciting!

As previously mentioned, my students love to build and problem solve. Things like Bit Bot, KLUTZ kits, Snap Circuits, and K'Nex allow students to have hands-on problem solving experiences when it comes to science and technology. These products allow students to not only look for one solution, but they allow for students to explore many different solutions when it comes to problem solving. These items allow for students to foster a growth mindset type of thinking when it comes to learning and problem solving.

All of the items listed will not only allow for engaging and impactful learning experiences, but they will allow for all students (no matter their academic level) to take charge of their own learning and allow for them to want to learn and grow more. Is that not what all kids deserve?
