My students need up-to-date STEM/ STEAM resources. We are creating Makerspaces that allow the students to create projects that combine technology, science, and math with real world problems to come up with solutions. Over 20 books include Wheels and Axles, Using Electricity, Energy Heat, Light and Fuel and How Transistors Work.
As the technology/ librarian teacher, I have the privilege to work with all of the students. They are smart, polite, hardworking students who enjoy learning. I serve approximately 800 students in grades PreK-5. Our population currently includes 40% of the students receiving free or reduced price lunch. We need supplies to enhance our STEM/STEAM curriculum. These lessons allow students to explore, experiment, infer, adapt, and analyze various situations and determine how their ideas change the outcome of their tasks.
My Project
My students need up-to-date STEM/ STEAM resources. We are creating Makerspaces that allow the students to create projects that combine technology, science, and math with real world problems to come up with solutions. Over 20 books include Wheels and Axles, Using Electricity, Energy Heat, Light and Fuel and How Transistors Work. Our school is working to create Makerspace areas for our students to explore real world problems and create projects that lead to possible solutions. We are in need of current resources that help to explain the concepts of math and science. We have a strong collection on the subjects of animals and environments. Our collection of current technology is weak.
STEM/STEAM resources help students explore concepts, incorporate prior research, and blend these activities with their own experiences.
The resources will help our students to become more than the consumers of science and technology, but to also become the future innovators of our society.
