Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

None of my students have used a 3D machine and they may never be able to in the future. This amazing technology is sure to amaze and capture their imaginations. This could be the year that magic happens and they fall in love with creating.

Our fine arts magnet school is located in a vibrant and diverse community.

Although we are in a high poverty district, our school has been able to retain our fine arts magnet status. However, it has been a challenge to find the funding for exciting new materials. One hundred percent of our students are on free and reduced-price lunch. Many of our families are struggling to get by, and do not have spare funds to purchase innovating new supplies for school. However, my students are enthusiastic, curious learners and deserve to have access to the latest technology.

My Project

We have a school of inquisitive and bright students. If we could bring this exciting 3D printer to our high poverty students, the world would open up to them. They would learn engineering and planning techniques beyond the current curriculum. Whereas most elementary schools have the classroom teachers teach science, we are lucky enough to have a dedicated science teacher who would use this 3D printer with all of the grades at our school. As a fine arts school we could create sculptures and even props for our plays. This technology would be in such use at our school and would greatly support our Fine Arts and Sciences Magnet program.

Our students would be on the cutting edge with this state-of-the art technology.

They can dream big as they design buildings, new concept pieces, and more. 3D technology is used in so many different fields and would allow us to encourage our students to dream big!
