My Project

Our students need tangible science materials that will help them learn science content through hands on learning activities that promote stem and science like the animal life cycle, board games, and the scavenger hunt. The materials (laminated to protect) will be used in activity centers/stations, small groups, and posted so that they do not only hear about the content, but actually learn through seeing, touching, and doing to capture their learning and hopefully captivate their interest into studying further. When they have games, activities, and props, they learn science concepts better. These materials will help ignite learning and keep students interested and more meaningful. Furthermore expose them to science practices and fields for them to further study. It is more appealing and inviting than just reading from a book. This allows students to learn through the use of games, activities, and their senses!

Allowing students to participate in learning through STEM in science will enable them to learn the science content through engagement and intended and purposeful exploration.

This allows all students to learn the necessary skills necessary for the future and improve critical thinking and social skills. When students work together using materials like Exploring Matter Learning Center Game, it builds on teamwork and collaboration. Lastly, it allows learning to be more meaningful.

Our students have a hard time being interested in school, struggle with reading, and do not have hands on learning. These materials, will help provide the hands-on learning and will also help them to be engaged with the charts and diagrams to understand concepts like the water cycle or how the human body systems work.
