My Students

Our Title I school is in a rural community that services Pre-K through 1st grade. We have a diverse group of learners who like to try out new and different ways to accomplish a task. Our focus in Pre-K is to develop the whole child and who they can become.

In an effort to teach the whole child, I endeavor to facilitate opportunities for them to create learning experiences through activity and exploration.

My students are exposed to text and then real world experiences and objects to experience and discover the world in a safe, engaging environment.

Their inquisitive nature lends itself to fantastic academic conversations that can only be attributed to their love of learning.

My Project

The student scientists in my class have a need for a better understanding about the world we live in and how they play a part in it through the science of plant growth.

"Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish, and you’ve fed him for a lifetime.”

The AquaSprout Garden set and aquarium accessories will deepen my students’ understanding of how an ecosystem works. They will also discover that plants do not always need soil to flourish. The Crystal Clay Seedling Set will allow them to observe the lifecycle of plants above and below the soil. The Composter will provide the students with a visual of the decomposition process of different materials, so they can begin to understand their role in taking care of the Earth. This project is a way for my students to become more aware of the symbiotic relationship between plants, animals, and humans while also learning about growth cycles.
