My Project
I am requesting a quality stereomicroscope for our schools's science lab. We grow plants year round, cultivate earthworms for composting and mealworms for life cycle observation. Imagine seeing these specimens under a microscope. WOW!
A stereomicroscope would allow our students to view our live specimens in stunning microscopic detail!
Traditional microscopes are not student-friendly and do not allow for viewing three-dimensional specimens. Stereomicroscopes don't rely on slides; you just put the specimen directly onto the microscope's platform and presto! You can see the 5 hearts in an earthworm! A leaf or a root revealed in incredible magnification. It's things like this that make kids go "WOW!" This ignites a love for science and appreciation for the natural world, and that's perhaps the most important part of my job teaching so many young, curious children.
