My Students

I have 18 fourth grade students who come to school excited and eager to learn! Our school was recently approved to be the only STEM elementary school with a focus on engineering in our district. Our school has over 400 students.

We are not a Title I funded school, so we do not receive as many resources as other schools may have.

Our average class size ranges from 20 to 30 students. We have a strong parent group that supports our school and classroom teachers as we transition to a STEM school.

My Project

This project is for a Tinker Crate 8 pack of different hands-on STEM activities from Kiwi Company. These crates will allow my students extra STEM projects outside of our daily curriculum.

These projects will be created during recess, what better way to spend a cold weather day - learning more about STEM!

These hands-on STEM activities include designing and creating a walking robot, building a hydraulic claw to left different challenges and automation where they engineer a hand-cranked, wooden automaton that makes a marble climb stairs! Several of these kits support our curriculum like paper circuits experiment with circuits to peek into the amazing world of electricity, buzz alarm they use electricity and switches to make a buzzing game and alarm and motor powered maze where they make a motor-powered maze and use switches to navigate your way to the center! My students love to do hands-on activities and this will give them another opportunity to continue learning about STEM.
