it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Math can be a very difficult subject for my students to learn and master. There are many formulas to memorize and various steps to apply, especially real-life word problems. I want my students to get the best education possible and walk out of my Algebra 2 classes with the confidence and ability to make connections between the math standards and the real life scenarios.
For my Quadratic Function unit, I would like to provide my students with real-life motion projectile examples and hands on experience to ensure that all of my students participate in class activities and get a full understanding of the topic.
At the moment students are learning how to calculate and analyze the different characteristics of Quadratics functions including complex word problems. I have created a STEM-technology project-based learning where at the end of the unit, students will build bottle rockets and measure the different characteristics using a launcher on a football field. This hands-on real-life experience will help students visualize math in real life.
