My Pre-K students LOVE to read and engage in learning through their imagination. They are extremely excited to learn and love to connect books to their home life and experiences. We need these reading tablets for our small group learning time so that children can be encouraged to read at both home and school while we extend the learning from small group activities to fun reading comprehension and new vocabulary at home!
Having these tablets will support children in the areas of interest, reading, literacy, word identification, kindness, pre-academic skills, and listening skills that will prepare them for kindergarten and enhance their love of reading daily.
Reading aloud to children has clear cognitive benefits such as hearing stories at school and home strengthens the part of the brain associated with visual imagery, story comprehension, and word meaning. Reading these books in small groups will help support the introduction of empathy, build relationships, and promote brain development in our classroom.
Reading to young children is an important way to help them build language skills. It exposes them to new words and ways of using language.
