S.T.E.M.-tastic Learning

My Students

My students are second through fourth graders. They are serviced weekly in my classroom for eight hours. They are intellectually gifted children. In addition to intellectual abilities, many of them are talented/ gifted in other areas.

We are a rural school and many of my students have very limited resources.

Because of this, I feel that they are at a disadvantage in many areas of education. Exposure to S.T.E.M. related experiences and activities is an area of particular need for these students.

My students are enjoying our S.T.E.M. challenge time. They also love to work with hands-on materials that challenge their creativity. We especially love anything to do with engineering or building. We love art and music projects as well. My students are an active and energetic group and they keep the days interesting and full of fun.

My Project

Many of our classroom assignments are computer based and students need to be able to not only see the computer but hear audio for optimal learning. With these headphones my students will be able to use our classroom laptops without disrupting other learners, and they will be able to clearly hear and learn at their own pace about endless topics.

These hands-on science learning kits will spark excitement and curiosity about how our earth works and how plants and animals navigate in it.

We will be able to explore our world by seeing how small animals create and manage their habitat, observe hydroponic gardening and learn its benefits, and so much more. There is nothing more engaging than being involved in the process. These materials will help my students be an active part of their own learning experiences.
