My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will be used to create engaging STEM experiences for students. These opportunities will allow students to explore within our science curriculum in meaningful ways through the scientific process during experiments. These supplies, including construction paper, tin foil, etc., will be used to make Solar Ovens and yard sticks will be used to do experiments about energy and motions (building ramps). Furthermore, materials, such as electrical tape, batteries and light bulbs will be used for experiments covering energy transfer. Stryofoam balls and storage bags will be used for space experiments about rotation and revolution. Items, such as coffee filters and tissue paper, will be used in experiments about mass and motion. These supplies will increase engagement for students while providing relevant and rigorous learning opportunities that align with the Utah Seed Science Standards. Students will be able to connect real world experiences with what we are learning in our scientific texts. Each material has been thoughtfully requested with students interests in mind.
