My Students

My 30 third grade students at our school are fun, energetic and eager to learn. Our school is located in a beautiful neighborhood in a medium/low income area. We have a variety of races, ethnicities and learning styles in our school. Many times science and math become monotonous and boring because of repetitive practice worksheets. When this happens my students quickly lose interest. When a student has no desire to learn not much learning will take place. Help my third grade students get excited again about math and science! By using math manipulatives and games as well as science experiments, I will be better able to get them excited to dive into these subject areas!

My Project

With the amount of time students play video games, watch TV and play on their tablets at home, it is amazingly difficult to get them interested in learning math equations and science topics at school. In order to get students to become excited and engaged I need more than just worksheets.

By using math and science manipulatives, games and experiments my students will be excited to learn.

By using materials such as the jumbo magnetic multiplication arrays and multiplication bingo I will be able to teach my students and reach all of them no matter what their learning style. The kids will be having fun while learning.

By having these math and science materials in my classroom I will be better able to teach my students in a whole class, small group and individual settings. The division and fraction bingo games will be a great way to help my struggling students during small group math time. It will also be a fun fast finisher for my advanced students.

I can't wait to make learning fun again!! Goodbye worksheets!
