My students need the Fairy Tales STEAM Kit to explore character traits and feelings in various ways with hands-on materials to master this skill. We also need an iPad.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 30 wonderful, loud, caring, intelligent, fun, and excited students in my class this school year. They are a group of 8-9 year olds with interests of technology, engineering, and exploring new things. Our school is located in an urban environment and it is the heart of our neighborhood.
Most of my students come from single-parent households which requires them to assist their parents in various ways.
My students are very caring and responsible at such a young age; I will always try to create unique in-class opportunities for them to have personal experiences that help them grow as successful students.
My Project
Classrooms contain different learning styles, students yearn for activities and centers that cater to their interests. This Fairy Tale STEAM Kit will help spark an interest in reading through the use of hands-on activities that cover various literacy skills.
By providing my students with tools they need for a STEM classroom, they will have fun resources that cater to their educational needs and personal interests.
I plan to use this Fairy Tale STEAM Kit at the beginning of the school year to introduce to the students how to identify character traits and the significance of a character changes throughout a story.
The iPad mini will also be a great addition to the classroom because it will be an alternative way for students to read books, explore educational apps, and becoming more tech-savvy in their technology-fueled world.
This donation will make a difference in their lives because they will be exposed to resources that are usually unreachable.
