Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The STEM materials I am requesting will be used in STEM stations. These materials are open-ended and encourage my students to use their imagination to create and build. Students will be allowed to pick a tub to explore with during independent work time. They are responsible for working with their peers to build and create using their imagination. Collaboration stations allow my students to work together and practice their problem-solving strategies.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “Play is fundamentally important for learning 21st-century skills, such as problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity.” When students' hands are actively learning, their minds are actively engaged as well.

STEM stations are one of my students' favorite activities to do and I would love to give them more options to choose from!
