My Students

My class consists of 22 culturally diverse students with over 50% qualifying for free and reduced rate lunch. Our community is located in a small, rural area of our county where many military families choose to reside. Many of my students live with a single parent that works. I have students receiving services for exceptional children, second language learners and at-risk readers. My students are excited about learning regardless of their personal situations! As a new teacher, I am equally as excited for them to learn!

My Project

My students need Fairy Tales Steam Kit to have hands on experiences related to science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics! We will use our Fairy Tales STEAM Kit to combine classic stories with hands-on STEM and literacy activities that my students are sure to love! As students read the stories, animate the puppets, answer questions and complete each STEM challenge, they'll build critical language and literacy skills, boost creative expression, master early engineering concepts and much more! We will use the hardcover books, storytelling aids and exciting STEM activities for integrating multiple subject areas—including STEM, literacy, creative expression and social-emotional development—into one action-packed lesson! Fairy tales will be the schema that spark each Stem lesson. I want to grow scientists, engineers and mathematicians for the next generation!
