Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders are inquisitive learners! They’re always ready to explore something new and love hands-on materials in the classroom. I want to provide my students with tools that provide a more engaging learning environment. My students are so excited to experience STEM, and they are learning how to collaborate, share, and work in teams. With these engaging materials, I can make their early STEM years both educational and enjoyable. This project will not only help to improve student attention and focus but will ultimately support increasing their academic achievement. Each student will be allowed to use the flexible floor cushions. This will allow my students to choose where they sit and learn in the classroom, enabling them to feel in control of their learning. It will empower them to think about how they learn best and urge them to be more strategic with their choices. The STEM building sets and interactive games will encourage creativity. STEM skills are in high demand in the workforce. These STEM building centers will help develop skills that they will need in the future, including critical thinking, solving, and logical reasoning. These STEM activities will teach them to learn from failure, think outside the box, and adapt to new situations. These materials will contribute to creating engaging center activities where all students can learn in a welcoming and nurturing classroom environment.
