My Students

Curiosity sparks the imagination! My students are curious and creative. I know when I create a challenge, they will do their best to tackle the challenge! I know this because during the past semester my students have been learning coding and what it is all about. As a librarian and computer teacher, I want my students to further their learning of coding by using manipulatives to see coding in action. Students learn when they are better able to visually see what is happening. I want to stimulate their creativity and curiosity as well as providing opportunities for learning and growth.

My goal for my students is to: promote life long learning, make information accessible, provide technological opportunities, and promote student learning by becoming effective users of information literacy.

My Project

Students will learn how to use information critically in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). They have used STEM skills in their coding lessons, but I would like to take it further with the use of Bee Bots.

Students will learn programming using the Bee Bot robots.

They will learn programming by figuring out how to make the Bee Bots move in certain directions. I hope to spark my students interests and think about careers in science and math. Using Bee Bots can also foster teamwork as students work together to solve problems using programming skills.
