Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am co teaching an inclusive fourth grade class. The make up of students is 12 students on IEP's and 13 general education students. The students on IEP's range from mild to moderate disabilities. All curriculum is modified or accommodated to meet the students individual needs.
The general education student population is a mix of high, medium and low students as well as English Language Learners.
The class has been very receptive of all the students and a very positive experience for all the students.
My Project
These materials will allow us to create a vibrant and sensory experience. The Astro bright paper, color ink, magnet strips and laminator/sheets will allow us to create materials for the students. These materials will be used to create task cards, vocabulary cards, and math flash cards for the students.
The cushion, pencil grips, stools, handballs and magnet tiles will help the students with sensory needs.
The magnet tiles can also be used during STEM activities. The Titanic books will allow students of different levels to access the curriculum unit on the Titanic. The paint brushes will be used for different art projects.
