This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are special education and general education students in a blended preschool classroom. This gives students a chance to be in an inclusive learning environment. My students love learning about their community and enjoy different sensory experiences. I want to be able to give them tools to learn about their environment, and community, and how to be independent. With these supplies, they will be able to learn about jobs in their community, practice fine motor skills for engineering, and finally get a sensory table for the classroom. We will be doing a unit on 'community helpers' to learn about different jobs in the neighborhood. The dramatic play clothes and the magnetic people will help us with that. And the sensory table will allow us to introduce different textures and more hands-on activities in the class.
My school does not have a large budget for preschool supplies, so if we have generous people to help us fund this class project, we will be able to give our students an opportunity they could not have otherwise.
