My Students

My students are eager to come to science class because they know they get to do hands-on activities. Science comes alive in my classroom when my students' hands, eyes, and ears are engaged.

My students are members of a small humble community.

The school that they attend is, as well, small and humble. These students work collaboratively to learn to the fullest on a daily basis. They help each other and I believe that they have learned to do this from their parents, teachers and administrators. I have never met a group of people as nice as the folks at my current school. They are deserving of any and every educational advantage available.

My Project

My youngest students are still in the early stages of discovering our world. The sensory (smelling) kits will help those new learners discover different scents from around the world. My hope is to incorporate materials from these kits into a science center in my classroom.

Scent sensory kits are something that we do not already have access to in my classroom.

I have obtained a whole host of tactile materials for our feeling sense, visual aids for our seeing sense, auditory materials for our hearing sense. However, we have not explored our smelling sense in my science lab yet. I would love to be able to introduce new scents to my students, appropriately and safely.
