My Students

Since its founding in 2010, my school has continued to grow through opportunities for academic excellence, intellectual inquiry, artistic expression, creativity and discovery, and a strong connection to nature and the outdoors. I teach 1st grade and would love to add to my classrooms centers. I am in a title one school that over 1/2 is on free or reduced lunches.

My Project

Providing the opportunity for centers in the classroom is crucial for long terms learning. Centers provides independence in learning. When implemented well, centers enable students to interact in a relaxed setting, and empower them to navigate the learning environment on their own and in diverse groups. ... And finally, centers allow teachers to address the distinct needs of small groups of students.

Teaching STEM in elementary grades opens the door for teachers and students to become tomorrow's movers and shakers.

... Teachers can foster critical thinking through problem-solving in elementary STEM education and provide students with an academic edge over the competition.
