My students are the best students. We have a very diverse student population with children from countries likes Syria, Uzbekistan, and Africa. We are a Title I school where nearly a third of my students speak English as a second language.
On a daily basis these beautiful accepting students are fully engaged in their education.
They are supportive of each other as well as welcoming mainstreamed students that spend some of their day with us that have Autism and other learning disabilities. They are loving and supportive and enjoy working as a team.
My Project
Having a set of Osmo kits will further allow me to modify rigorous curriculum so that all learning styles have an avenue for success. These Osmo kits will be apart of a STEM center as well as being used as an intervention tool for the most at risk students.
Daily use of these 5 Genius Osmo kits will enable my students to practice spatial relationships, creative problem solving, spelling, and numerous math applications.
My project will make a difference because these students are digital babies and many classroom do not have the technology to support their needs as learners. This grant will help to close that digital divide that is currently a reality in many schools.
