This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a teacher in a low-income area, my students and their families face many different challenges every day. Regardless of all the challenges, they face at home, my kindergarten students still come to school happy and excited to learn. While in school, my students flourish, getting to know the ins and outs of how school works and enjoying the joy that is kindergarten.

My Project

My kindergarteners are naturally curious and ready to explore. They love creating, building and working in collaboration with their peers. One of the best ways to facilitate this type of learning is through STEM projects.

Exposing students to STEM concepts and projects early on in their education will mold them to become critical thinkers and set them up for future academic success.

This project is important because it will allow me to facilitate this type of learning in my classroom. With these materials my students will be able to engage in meaningful hands on activities.
