My classroom is full of 23 students, with a variety of ability levels, who come in ready to learn each day! I try to create a classroom environment that accepts students’ differences and embraces their personalities as well as their skill levels. My class is full of inquisitive and curious students who are constantly asking questions and seeking answers. Not only are they learning 4th grade academic standards, but they are also learning lifelong skills and lessons that will help them become successful in the future.
My Project
I want to bring meaningful, real-life, career readiness projects to my students, so they can continue to grow academically and socially. I’m looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences that will spark their love of learning by discovering a world full of math, science, and technology. Students get excited when they learn through hands-on experiments and real-life topics. In order for students to be engaged with the science standards, they need materials that engage, capture their attention, and are real-life, and career oriented. Unfortunately, our science curriculum consists of outdated textbooks. I supplement our science learning but lack many resources. My students continually motivate me to instill a love of learning in them by making the standards come to life in exciting ways. By providing them with meaningful learning experiences, their quest for knowledge can be achieved!
These STEM kits will help address real world problems, solutions, and projects.
With the kits, students will design and build roller coasters, complete electrical circuits, and explore gravitational forces. Students can then apply these skills with what we learn in class to the real world. By engaging students with these kits, student's interests will be peaked and they will be motivated to learn more about the science, math, and technology fields as careers.
