This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have been teaching in a Spanish dual-immersion classroom for twelve years and absolutely love it! My students amaze me every day! I feel that they teach me just as much as I teach them. Learning and sharing language and culture is a special part of who we are, and allows us to explore and appreciate the world around us with open eyes and hearts.
I feel so fortunate to be a part of a community that strives to be responsible and respectful bilingual citizens who will one day make a positive change in this world.
My Project
The cozy rug will allow my students to sit comfortably and learn through play! The storage bins will allow proper organization of the STEM toys and materials like puzzles, games, dolls and cars..
My kindergartners will be able to use their brain power to explore, build, and learn all while having fun and practicing social skills involved in cooperative play!
It is so critical for five year olds to have the opportunity every day to do just this and use these skills!
My students come from all background and speak two different languages. Exploring through play is a way they can practice language in a comfortable, non intrusive environment. There will be endless benefits to these materials!
