STEM Physics Projects for Title I High School Students

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from a Title I school with a high level of poverty and mostly low-income families. These families have trouble providing the basic supplies for their high school classes, let alone extra supplies for labs and projects. Some of my students are also English language learners and others have disabilities. Despite their adversities, they are bright, creative, and want to learn.
As a teacher, I try my best to supply my students with as many supplies as possible so they don't have to worry about money and can instead worry about their education.
I work hard to give them hands-on lab experiences that they wouldn't normally get in an inner-city classroom.
The supplies I have requested will help sophomore and junior level physics classes complete various hands-on labs such as building soda bottle rockets and launching them with a high-pressure bike pump and building mini-catapults and measuring their energy output. They will get to be real scientists and watch their creations come to life!
