This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are loving, curious, and energetic. Many of my students come from backgrounds of poverty and brokenness. When they come to school they are looking for love, security, and consistency. That is what I strive to provide to my students every day.
As a teacher, it is my goal to help my students become lifelong learners who find success in and outside of the classroom.
That is why I am so excited about DonorsChoose.org. It is a generous community that wants to see students excited about learning and provide resources to enrich the education of these children.
My Project
My students love to learn through exploring, creating, and using hands-on materials. One way that we do this is through a STEM center. Our STEM center will be during our math block and is often a favorite for students. In order for this to be a success, we need to provide many options to enhance the learning and experiences for my students.
These materials will give my students an opportunity to grow and thrive through creative thinking.
My goal is to build lifelong learners and STEM is an amazing way for students to explore the sciences and see if it is something they are passionate about.
