I am asking for STEM materials for my Special Needs class. I teach a K-5 Special Needs class at a Title I school. I have a wide variety of abilities in my room. We do not have many things for the higher functioning students.
The items I am requesting would be a wonderful addition to my class and help my students with higher level thinking.
The kits and STEM stations are a creative way to work on Math, Science, Social Skills, and Cooperation. An example of an activity that can be used for the Monkey Balance Scale is that we can learn about heavy and light and measure multiple objects to see which items are heavier and which are lighter. After the whole group lesson, students can then have independent practice using the Monkey Scale. Adults will help support students depending on their ability level.
I am asking for K-2 and 3-5 STEM kits, several STEM activities from Learning Resources and Lakeshore, and a Water Works Kit.
