My Project
My students have been working extremely hard this year and have improved so much! They deserve to have materials to complete STEM experiments. Working at a Title I school, getting "extras" from parents can sometimes prove to be hard or nearly impossible due to not having the funds to provide for "extras." We use batteries for experiments, but they do lose their charge and sometimes our older materials fall apart and break, so we have to replenish the supplies. The candy bars will be used for an edible experiment that the students will be able to engage in and enjoy.
My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their fellow classmates when they are fully engaged and have all the materials that they need!
They work so hard throughout the year and sometimes doing a STEM project and/or experiment not only teaches them new concepts but it also gets them excited to learn! Not all students learn the same way so having these STEM projects and experiments give visual and hands-on learners a equal opportunity to have a higher quality of learning!
